Our Nativity
I absolutely love our nativity out in the front yard. It has so many pieces that my hope is to add a piece every year. I started a couple of years ago and made the Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, and the Shepherds and the scroll. Last year I added the three wise men. This year I was planning to add the donkey (I think it is my favorite of the whole set) but the time may not be permitting him to come on scene before the end of december. It is a cute little pattern that I collected years ago (when Taylor was born to be exact.) A friend and I took toll-painting classes and our teacher had this nativity on her coffee table. The pieces were 4 inches not 4 feet, so I have to freehand these guys as I look at the pattern to their much smaller counter parts. Anyway, everytime I drive up to my house (especially at night when they are all lit up) I just love seeing them. Could just be the hours of work, but I think that it could actually be what they represent that stikes me. In such a childlike simple way, they bring the true meaning of Christmas into our own front yard.

I love your nativity too! You are so talented. It fits your house perfectly.
I really like the pic of your family next to your creation. Can't wait to see the one in daylight.
Love the pictures with Santa. Was that nativity set from Vanessa's? It must have made a real impression on you because I don't even remember it and here you are this many years later still working on it. I plan to get in touch with Vanessa and her parents soon. I will tell her to check out your blog and see what you've done with the plans from her 4" model. It looks great and must be a lot of work. You are very talented.
I can't believe how talented you are! Your nativity is DARLING!
