New Years Eve FUN! Wild West Style!

We had a fun New Years Eve with a lot of great people. Our friends (and new neighbors) have a new Years bash every year and this year we went. We had a blast. This is the picture that they took when setting up the party and getting invites out. Becky's family gets way into this. They are party animals.

The invites came in the form of tickets.

We had fun trying to fit into the western look of things. Rod seems to look pretty natural in any kind of rugged look.
The boots are the best part! I secretly love cowboy boots and western music. (Shh, don't tell Rod, he does NOT.)

They had a great "saloon" for pics that Aaron helped build. The Halls went with us. We love hanging out with them and are so glad that they came.
We got there a bit earlyish thinking we could help with set up, but most was done. So we had time to snap a few pics before the crowd!

This buggy was set up on one side of the dance floor.

They had a magician that went around to the tables. He was really good and very entertaining.

The hula hoop contest.

Becky got involved... apparently she has won it before, but this year the hoop didn't cooperate.

Line dancing was pretty popular.

Ok, then the confetti came out. It came out quite a bit before new years and there were many confetti fights. It was amazing how much confetti was on our bathroom floor when we changed at the end of the night.

I love this picture. I am not sure if it is just because my husband is so amazingly handsome, or if its because of how well it catches the mood of the night. Or maybe it is because of the confetti stuck in his arm hair! Anyway, it is defintely one of my favorites of the night.

I am sad that this picture is so blurry, the fog machine was on and it was just too cloudy for pics, but this a great group of people that we love. I had to keep it anyway. The Wadmans, the Webbs, us and the Smedleys.

Dale and Melanie getting attacked from behind by the confetti monster.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I took this picture at 12:00.01 I love it... as my sis-in-law would say, it just looks like New Years!

The balloons come out at midnight and everyone goes nuts. They have money in them, so people just start popping them. It sounds like the grand finale on the fourth of july. I preferred taking pics than getting in the mess.
Some were rummaging through the confetti looking for cash!

Terri and Becky found each other in the mess for the new years moment.

Us with the Webbs. We wish we could see them more. With them being so close to the Weavers we think we are going to now.

I love this with Becky dancing with her dad. They are just fun to watch and have a lot of fun together.

Rod and Becky decided to get going on the clean up... using Becky as the broom!

Ok, look closely at this one. See Becky's hat next to Rod?? Yep, that's her... they did the run and slide thing, but Becky kind of disappeared under the confetti.

Then it turned into a confetti fight.

Guess who won??!
I think Becky gave in.

Cute picture of Justin and Dena.

Becy and I ... her shirt was white at the beginning of the night.
Oh, the bags we filled with confetti after... WOW!!!

Holiday FHE with our Scottish friends!

Hmmm... where are they from??? Scotland? Texas? Hawaii? California? I'm so confused!!!! The answer seems to be all of the above! We so enjoyed our evening with Matt and Tia and kalani Farley and having Robbie and Kiana join us was a big bonus! We had a fun FHE with a very abbreviated lesson and lots of games and treats. The whole evening was a treat!

Jared and Kalani got along just as well as Leah and Kalani I think.

While the BIG KIDS played a wild game of spoons, Leah and Kalani and I made treats!!

The best part of making treats is licking the utensils!

Oh, yeah baby!! Look at those faces!

SPOONS!! Apparently Matt's first time to play... boy was he in for fun!

I guess Matt caught on quickly, because he and Rod were last in. It was pretty intense. I got a little bit of video I will try to load it at the bottom of this post.

The girls got into a game of their own level!

Jared had fun keeping score!

The Weavers came over too... Kalani and Kim are close! So sweet.

And thanks to Terry's diligence and Robbie and Tia's help our Christmas puzzle was finally finished!

It is so fun to hang out with old friends. We miss Matt and Tia on a myriad of different levels. Our girls are the same age, we share so many interests and even a few challenges, and I think Rod really misses playing ball with Matt. They have played on several teams together over the years and it has been fun. As they finish up with Scotland and head back to Texas, our paths will cross again in California, and maybe even Hawaii! (Wishful thinking I suppose!)

A day out with our girls!

While Rod has some time off this week, we have decided to take each of our children on dates (in groups of two.) We took the girls out, did some shopping, and went to lunch at Olive Garden. It was fun to just spend time with the two of them and watch them enjoy each other as well. We had a great time, and Kiera enjoyed getting Andrea to try the peppers!!

Sisters!!
